Investigation of the embezzlement of the 2023 MXGP funds, the NTB Police investigates the staff of the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB) has examined staff of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpar RI) regarding the case of alleged fraud and embezzlement of vendor funds for the 2023 MXGP event by promoter PT Samota Enduro Gemilang (SEG).

"We ask for information from the ministry to find out the regulations and policies from the center to the local government in the implementation of the event," said the Director of Criminal Investigation of the NTB Police, Kombes Pol. Arissandi in Mataram, Tuesday.

According to him, this information is important to ensure the position of the authorities in realizing the budget.

"Whether the budget really exists or has existed, then it was abolished because of efficiency. That's what we're still investigating," he said.

The NTB Police is handling the case, which is still in the investigation stage to see if the criminal elements in the report are still in the search sequence.

Head of Subdirectorate III Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda NTB AKBP Catur Erwin Setiawan added that his party still needed criminal experts to strengthen the evidence of the case.

"The purpose of the criminal expert examination is to comprehensively assess whether the reported events meet the elements of criminal acts of fraud and embezzlement in accordance with the provisions of criminal law," he said.

So far, said Catur, investigators have examined at least three vendors as reporters. In addition, six people from the ranks of the PT Samota Enduro Gemilang (SEG) board of directors have also been questioned.

The police have also secured a number of documents related to the MXGP in NTB.

The NTB Police handled this case starting from the report of a number of vendors who claimed that they had not received payment, although the work was completed and according to the cooperation contract.
