"I would like to sincerely thank the brave Korean soldiers - participants in combat operations in the Kursk Region - and pay tribute to the fallen heroes," the Russian President said in a telegram on the occasion of the opening of the Memorial Complex and Museum of the Military Victory Memorial in Foreign Military Operations in Pyongyang, North Korea, reported from TASS (27/4).
In the Telegram, President Putin again praised the struggle and sacrifice of the North Korean army in helping Russia in the media battle.
"Fighting shoulder to shoulder with their comrades from Russia, the Korean soldiers and officers showed incredible courage and sincere self-sacrifice, earning eternal glory. Their unparalleled achievements will forever remain in the hearts of every Russian citizen," said President Putin.
The monument, which was opened on Sunday, is intended to perpetuate the memory of the heroism of the soldiers of the Korean People's Army and the sacrifices made for a common victory, said the Russian president.
President Putin expressed his belief that the monument would become "a real symbol of friendship and unity of our people."
The Russian leader also expressed deep gratitude to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and all parties involved in the implementation of this large-scale project in the shortest possible time, coinciding with the anniversary of the liberation of the Kursk Region from the invaders.
