BANDAR LAMPUNG - The General Manager of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) continues to mature the preparations for the implementation of the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress which is scheduled to take place in August 2026.
"Preparations for the 35th NU Congress are continuing and are now entering the maturation stage," said PBNU Secretary-General Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul in Bandarlampung, Antara, Sunday, April 26.
Gus Ipul said that a small committee had been formed and was currently completing various technical requirements for the implementation of the activity.
"Preparations are continuing. A small committee has been formed and is completing the necessary committee arrangements for the implementation of the congress," said Gus Ipul, who is also the Chairman of the 35th NU Congress Implementation Committee.
He explained that one of the main focuses in the preparation phase was the completion of the administration of the management, especially the issuance of a Decree (SK) for regional and branch managers who will be participants in the congress.
To speed up the process, PBNU formed a panel team headed by Muhammad Nuh.
"The panel team is tasked with verifying and completing the SK so that all participants have valid legality before the muktamar takes place," he said.
Gus Ipul added that the panel team continued to work to complete all SKs and appealed to regional and branch managers to immediately complete administrative and other technical preparations.
Meanwhile, the Head of PBNU's Education and Law Department, Moh Mukri, said the panel team also verified and reviewed the internal dynamics of the organization.
"Including the coordination of previous decisions so that the entire process runs in a conducive manner," he said.
PBNU hopes that all stages of preparation can be completed on time so that the 35th NU Congress can run smoothly according to plan.
"Insyaallah the muktamar will be held from August 1 to 5, while the location is still under discussion and will be further consulted by the leadership," said Gus Ipul.
