JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka asked the Nutrition Service Fulfillment Unit (SPPG) officers to evaluate the standard operating procedures for food, while reviewing the implementation of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) at SD Negeri 2 Waisai, Raja Ampat Regency.

During his review, Vice President Gibran asked the SPPG officers who distributed food to students. After receiving an explanation, the Vice President found out that the MBG menu at the school was cooked too early, so it was feared that it would damage the quality of the food.

"Starting tomorrow, you change the SOP. You can't cook that early," said Gibran, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 22.

During his three-day working visit to Papua, Gibran has ensured the smooth implementation of MBG in three schools, namely SMAN 4 Mimika, Yahukimo Christian School and SDN 2 Waisai Raja Ampat, West Papua.

This SPPG review activity is part of the Vice President's efforts to monitor the implementation of the President's priority programs so that they run optimally and are targeted in the field.

This morning, the MBG menu served includes white rice, soy sauce chicken, fried tempeh, cassava vegetables, and apples.

In addition to ensuring that the implementation of MBG goes well, the Vice President also greeted the students and saw directly their response to the food served.

One of the students of class 2C of the elementary school, Tianmeng, said "Yes, I like it," when interviewed on a separate occasion.

SDN 2 Waisai has a total of 671 students divided into 24 study groups, supported by 45 teaching and education personnel.

Through this review, the Vice President emphasized the importance of the sustainability of the MBG program as part of the government's strategy in improving the nutritional quality of Indonesian children, as well as supporting optimal growth and development for the next generation of the nation.
