SURABAYA - The East Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Jatim) has again searched the office of the Energy and Mineral Resources Agency (ESDM) as part of the development of the investigation into the alleged illegal levies in mining permits.

Head of the Legal Information Section of the East Java Prosecutor's Office, Adnan Sulistiyono, said the search was carried out to strengthen evidence.

"The search at the East Java Provincial ESDM office is a continuation of the deepening of the case to strengthen the evidence by investigators," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 21.

He explained that the search by the special criminal investigation team was part of the development of the case of alleged corruption in the mining and groundwater management licensing process.

Previously, investigators had named three suspects, namely the Head of the East Java ESDM Office with the initials AM, the Head of the Mining Sector with the initials OS, and the official with the initials H who served as the Head of the Water Management Working Group.

Adnan emphasized that the investigation process is still ongoing and is being carried out continuously after the arrest of the three suspects.

"The investigation process is proceeding according to procedure because there is a time limit for detention," he said.

He added that investigators were still conducting further examinations of the suspects to complete the case file.

The determination of suspects in this case is the result of the development of public reports, especially permit applicants.
