Students in Tanjung Priok Become Judol Operators, Arrested by Buser Pretending to Deposit

JAKARTA - The Tanjung Priok Port Police Criminal Investigation Unit has managed to arrest an online gambling operator of the slot type with the initials ZF (24) who operates on social media and online sites.

The perpetrator, who is a student, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Port Police after a random cyber patrol was carried out.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Tanjung Priok Port Police, AKP A. A. Ngurah Made Pandu said that the disclosure of online gambling of the slot type started from the rampant promotion through WhatsApp groups.

"The modus operandi carried out by the suspect is to market online gambling sites to the general public through WhatsApp groups, as well as provide access and gambling transactions through a number of accounts and digital wallets," said AKP Pandu when confirmed, Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

From the results of the investigation, officers found online gambling promotion activities through a WhatsApp group called Bloodline Injek, which contained links to several slot gambling sites as well as account information for transactions.

The officer then made a disguise by accessing the site and making a deposit of Rp. 50 thousand to ensure the illegal activity.

Furthermore, the officers carried out development and finally secured the perpetrator in a shop house in the Pangeran Jayakarta area, Central Jakarta.

"The suspect who was arrested was ZF who played an active role in marketing online gambling sites," he said.

From the suspect's hands, officers seized a number of evidence in the form of two mobile phones and screenshots of online gambling sites used in the activity.

"The suspect is charged with Article 45 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (2) of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions, with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to IDR 10 billion. In addition, the suspect is also charged with Article 426 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 9 years in prison," he said.

Currently, investigators are still completing the case file and coordinating with the Public Prosecutor for further legal proceedings. The Tanjung Priok Port Police emphasized its commitment to continue to eradicate online gambling practices.
