BANYUWANGI - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Operation (Daop) 9 Jember presents an innovation in long-distance transportation services without transit 1,002 kilometers from Ketapang Station, Banyuwangi, East Java, to Bandung Station, West Java, going back and forth (PP).

The Legal and Public Relations Manager of the Jember 9 Daop, Cahyo Widiantoro, said that the innovation of long-distance transportation services using the Sangkuriang Train connection Ketapang-Bandung is scheduled to start operating from Ketapang Station on May 2, 2026.

"This is also an alternative for long-distance travel that emphasizes comfort, efficiency and inter-regional connectivity," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 21. According to Cahyo, Sangkuriang KA is equipped with a series of modern and diverse facilities, consisting of one compartment train with a capacity of 16 seats which offers privacy and exclusivity, four stainless steel executive trains with a total of 200 seats (each 50 seats).

Then three stainless steel economy trains with a total of 240 seats (80 seats each), and this series is also equipped with one restoration train and one generator train to support comfort during the journey.

He explained that the Sangkuriang train would travel a distance of 1,002 kilometers and cross Jember, Lumajang, Surabaya, Solo, Yogyakarta, Ciamis, Tasikmalaya to the final destination of Bandung.
