MEULABOH - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency has ensured that the construction of six temporary housing units (huntara) in the second phase in Lawet Village, the local regency, has been completed 100 percent.
"Although the building is ready to be inhabited with adequate electricity and water facilities, the process of mobilizing the community and distributing logistics is still hampered by weather and geographical access factors," said Acting Head of the West Aceh Regency BPBD Teuku Ronald Nehdiansyah in Meulaboh, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, April 18.
He said based on information from the partner provider, all huntara units in Lawet Village, Pante Ceureumen District, West Aceh Regency are now firmly standing and are ready to be occupied by survivors of the natural disaster of flash floods.
Teuku Ronald said that the six huntara units were occupied by six families (KK) of flood victims, who are currently still staying at relatives' houses after their houses were severely damaged by the natural disaster that occurred on November 26, 2025.
"Alhamdulillah, electricity and water are available, the building is also completed and ready to be occupied," he said.
Teuku Ronald said that currently the number of huntara built by BNPB in West Aceh Regency is 12 units, spread over two locations, namely in Jambak Village, Pante Ceureumen District, six units and Lawet Village, Pante Ceureumen District, six units.
"For the huntara in Jambak Village, it is currently filled and inhabited by the community," he said.
Meanwhile, for the huntara in Lawet Village, he said, is currently waiting for the process of mobilizing residents. Although the infrastructure is ready, the main obstacle at this time is access to the huntara location to Lawet Village, Pante Ceureumen District, must cross the river.
The latest report states that the river water discharge is high, so that the delivery of basic necessities and the mobilization of residents cannot be carried out for security reasons.
"Currently we continue to monitor weather conditions. The distribution of logistics and the transfer of people to Lawet huntara will be carried out immediately once the river water discharge decreases and the road access is safe to pass," said Teuku Ronald Nehdiansyah.
