MBG Program Money Turnover Reaches IDR 600 Billion per Day to Farmers and Livestock Farmers

Jakarta - The Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program has generated Rp600 billion in cash flow for farmers, livestock farmers, and fish farmers.

This was conveyed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Suwandi, in a discussion of One Year of MBG's Journey in Empowering Communities in Jakarta, Thursday, April 16.

According to him, the overall turnover of money from the MBG program reached Rp. 1 trillion. Suwandi explained that the total rice needs for the MBG program reached 360 thousand tons in 2025, valued at Rp. 5.16 trillion.

Along with the increase in the number of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), the demand for rice for the MBG program this year also increased to 1.99 million tons with a value of around Rp. 30.6 trillion.

Not to mention other agricultural products. For example, chicken eggs, the need for the MBG program in 2025 reaches 1.37 million tons with a value of Rp. 4.45 trillion. Then chicken meat whose needs for MBG in 2025 are 990 thousand tons worth Rp. 41 trillion.

The demand for vegetables for MBG in 2025 is 2.48 million tons with a value of Rp. 9.92 trillion. Meanwhile, the fruit needs for MBG in 2025 reached 2.5 million tons with a value of Rp. 22.5 trillion.
