JAKARTA - The rapid change in the world's geopolitics prompted Prabowo Subianto to immediately consult Russia.

In a meeting with Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin, Monday, April 13, Prabowo emphasized that his arrival was not only about cooperation, but reading the direction of the world.

"We need consultations to face the future situation," he said.

He assessed that Russia played a positive role amid global uncertainty. This assessment is important, because Indonesia is looking for a position in the middle of the great power tug-of-war.

Prabowo also emphasized the need to strengthen economic and energy cooperation. Two sectors that are most affected by global conflicts.
