JAKARTA - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has denied media reports and news from a number of social media accounts that its government plans to deport Iranian citizens.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement via its X account that more than 200 foreign nationals live in the country as a "clear expression of the UAE's consistent approach to consolidating the values of coexistence and tolerance."
The ministry said that Iranian people in the UAE "are respected and valued, are part of the country's social order, and contribute to strengthening its diversity and openness."
Regarding the news that the UAE will deport Iranian citizens, the Ministry stated "inaccurate media claims".
According to the UAE, the UAE's institutional approach "is built on a sound legal and procedural framework that protects the safety and well-being of all members of society, without exception."
The ministry reiterated "the state's commitment to maintaining a safe and stable environment based on the rule of law, ensuring the protection of the rights of all residents."

Previously, there were news reports in the media and social media that said the UAE had banned Iranian passport holders from entering and transit through the country, including those with valid residence permits.
