Government Confirms Subsidized and Non-Subsidized Fuel Will Not Increase

JAKARTA - The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi stated that the government ensured that the price of fuel oil (BBM), subsidized and non-subsidized, did not increase.

Prasetyo said the decision was taken after the government coordinated with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and PT Pertamina, in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's instructions.

"The President always puts the interests of the people and the interests of the community in making a decision. That is why Pertamina states that Pertamina will not adjust the price of both subsidized and non-subsidized fuels," said Prasetyo as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 31.

The government also ensures that national fuel is in a safe and available condition so that the public is asked not to panic or be uneasy about the issue of price increases.

"We hope that with this statement, the public can get clearer, more accurate information and we hope that the public does not need to panic, does not need to be restless because of the availability of our fuel. We guarantee and the price does not adjust," he explained.

The government hopes that the clarification can provide accurate information to the public while reducing concerns related to the issue of rising fuel prices that had developed.
