JAKARTA - Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) stated that it would hold a Public Hearing (RDPU) regarding the case of Amsal Sitepu, a videographer who was accused of corruption in the "mark up" budget for village video projects in Karo Regency, North Sumatra.

Quoted from ANTARA, the RDPU was held on Monday, March 30, 2026 to respond to the many demands of the public who considered the case to be tainted with injustice.

"Commission III reminds law enforcement that the spirit of the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code is how the legal process produces substantive justice, not just mere formalistic justice," said Habiburokhman, Sunday.

Previously, Amsal Sitepu was sentenced to two years in prison by prosecutors in a case of alleged corruption in a project in a village in Karo Regency, North Sumatra.
