JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin said relations between Russia and European countries are in a state of crisis and it is not due to Russia's fault.

"Obviously, Russia's relations with European countries are in crisis, and not because of our mistakes," Putin said at a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council in Moscow, Friday, 27 Friday, reported ANTARA from Sputnik.

The crisis in Ukraine, continued Putin, was the fault of the previous US administration and several European countries. He said Russia had never refused to restore relations with Europe.

Referring to the events in Ukraine on the worsening situation in relations between Russia and the West, according to Putin, have no sufficient basis.

Previously, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Sunday (15/3), argued that the European Union was preparing for war, and the deployment of European troops in Ukraine was only a matter of time.

"The war is getting closer. Brussels has increased its involvement in the war in Ukraine. So now they are preparing for war. They have switched to a war economy," Orban said in a speech to participants in the Peace March in Budapest.

"They don't want to avoid the problem, they are facing the problem. More weapons, more money, more troops... We don't know exactly what time the first soldiers from Brussels will set foot on Ukrainian soil. But we know for sure: it will happen," he continued.

Orban added he was committed to keeping Hungary a "island of security and peace" even in a turbulent world like this.
