Arus Balik Naik, Jasa Marga Gives 30 Percent Discount on Toll Starting March 26

JAKARTA - The return flow of Lebaran 2026 is starting to thicken. As of March 24, 2026, a total of 1,958,838 vehicles have been recorded as returning to the Jabotabek area. This figure is equivalent to 57.7 percent of the total projection of 3.39 million vehicles that are estimated to enter until the end of the return flow period on March 31, 2026.

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk data shows that the reverse flow comes from four main toll gates, namely Cikampek Utama from the Trans Java direction, Kalihurip Utama from the Bandung direction, Cikupa from the Merak direction, and Ciawi from the Puncak direction.

Vehicle traffic is still dominated by the east, namely Trans Java and Bandung, with 850,180 vehicles or 43.4 percent. From the west or Merak, 617,826 vehicles or 31.5 percent were recorded, while from the south or Puncak reached 490,832 vehicles or 25.1 percent.

The sharpest spike was seen at the peak of the return flow on March 24, 2026. On that day, vehicles returning to Jabotabek reached 256,338 units, up 99 percent compared to normal conditions which recorded 128,802 vehicles.

Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono said that the reverse flow still has the potential to increase, especially on March 28 and 29, 2026. "Vehicle traffic flow is expected to continue to increase, especially during the next peak period of the reverse flow on March 28 and 29, 2026," said Rivan in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday, March 26.

To reduce density, the government appeals to the public to arrange travel time. One of the steps offered is a 30 percent toll discount on March 26-27, 2026 on nine toll roads of Jasa Marga.

The routes that have been given a tariff reduction include the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Layang Mohammed Bin Zayed (MBZ) Road, Palimanan-Kanci Toll Road, Batang-Semarang Toll Road, Semarang ABC Section Toll Road, Belawan-Medan-Tanjung Morawa Toll Road, Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road, Cipularang Toll Road, and Padaleunyi Toll Road.

People who have time flexibility are also asked to take advantage of the Work From Anywhere policy on March 25-27, 2026. The goal is nothing more than shifting travel from the peak of the return flow so that the density does not pile up on the same day.
