BOGOR - The Bogor City Government prohibits street vendors (PKL) from selling in the former Bogor Market and Bogor Plaza areas as the area is being arranged.

Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim emphasized that all trading activities in the Jalan Roda, Pedati, Bata, to Lawang Seketeng area must be stopped and moved to the official market.

As a solution, the Bogor City Government has prepared two relocation locations, namely Jambu Dua Market and Gembrong Sukasari Market.

"In the future, there should be no more buying and selling activities on the PKL stalls on the road. All businesses must be done in the market," Dedie said, Wednesday, March 25.

He said, Gembrong Sukasari Market can accommodate around 600 traders, while Jambu Dua Market has a capacity of up to 1,200 traders. Both markets are prepared as a new trading activity center.

Currently, around 400 traders have occupied the relocation location, both from relocation and old traders who have been operating there.

Dedie added that this policy is also part of efforts to protect investment in the area arrangement carried out together with Perumda Pasar Pakuan Jaya.

The Bogor City Government has set a deadline for PKL activities in the area until March 26, 2026 or after Lebaran. After that, there is no more tolerance for traders who sell outside official kiosks or shops.

The government will also impose sanctions in accordance with the Regional Regulation on Public Order for violators.

In the future, similar enforcement will be expanded to a number of other roads, such as Dewi Sartika Street, Merdeka Street, and MA Salmun Street.

"Please use the market that has been prepared. We will manage this area so that it is more orderly and comfortable," said Dedie.
