MALANG - The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) has increased the quota for tourist visits to Mount Bromo by 1,000 people per day during the Idulfitri holiday.

The Public Relations Officer of the TNBTS Headquarters, Endrip Wahyutama, said that the addition of the quota was a routine policy every long holiday.

"Especially for every long holiday or long weekend, the daily quota opened at 3,572 people, with an additional quota of 1,000 people starting at 07.00 WIB. While for the normal quota is 2,752 people," said Endrip in Malang, Antara, Saturday, March 21.

He ensured that the public could still access the Bromo Mountain area as long as the quota for visits was still available. To support the smooth running of the visit, his party has also prepared various anticipatory steps in the field.

One of the main focuses is to unravel the potential for congestion, especially due to the accumulation of tourist jeep vehicles. A number of vulnerable congestion points have been mapped, including at Sunrise View Point Simpang Dingklik, Pakis Bincil, Bukit Kedaluh, Watu Gedhe, and Jemplang.

During the long holiday period, as many as 60 joint personnel were deployed to secure the area. Officers are from TNBTS, the police, TNI, the sub-district government, the buffer village, the Forest Police Mitra Society (MMP), and the Fire Care Society (MPA).

"Security at the entrance and potential traffic jam locations is carried out in a coordinated manner to maintain the smoothness of the visit," said Endrip.

TNBTS also set the entrance ticket rate at IDR 79,000 for Indonesian tourists and IDR 255,000 for foreign tourists during the holiday period.

The ticket purchase system is carried out entirely online through the official TNBTS website.

The management estimates that the peak of tourist visits will occur on Sunday (22/3) and Monday (23/3).

Endrip appealed to visitors to comply with all rules in order to maintain security and safety, including avoiding disaster-prone areas around the Bromo caldera.

"For visitors who use motorbikes, make sure the condition of the vehicle is in good condition because the path to the location has many sharp slopes and steep slopes," he said.
