JAKARTA - The National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) officially stopped the national one-way traffic engineering (one way) on the Trans Java Toll Road, which was previously enforced from KM 70 Cikampek Toll Gate, West Java, to KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Gate, Semarang, Central Java.

Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Pol. Agus Suryonugroho said the suspension was carried out on Friday, March 20 at 13.22 WIB, after receiving the approval of the National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"With the permission of the National Police Chief, the national one-way traffic engineering for the homecoming flow we declare closed at 13.22 WIB," said Agus at the KM 29 Cikampek Toll Command Center, West Java, quoted from Antara.

According to him, the decision was made based on the results of an evaluation which showed that the traffic flow conditions were relatively gentle and under control.

"Currently, traffic conditions are normal, both leading to Jakarta and Semarang," he said.

Previously, national one-way traffic engineering was enforced since Wednesday, March 18 on the Trans Java Toll Road, from KM 70 Cikampek Utama Toll Gate to KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Gate.

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi stated that the policy was a form of the state's presence in ensuring the smoothness and comfort of the community during the homecoming period.

He explained that traffic engineering had actually started since Tuesday, March 17, but was still partial, namely from KM 70 to KM 263 of the Trans Java Toll Road.

The one-way implementation was then expanded as the volume of vehicles heading to Central Java through the Trans Java Toll increased.
