JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has deployed as many as 1,810 personnel to secure the takbiran night to welcome the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah in DKI Jakarta.

"This security is part of an effort to ensure that the takbiran night takes place safely, orderly and conducive," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Police Budi Hermanto in his statement in Jakarta, Friday, March 20.

Budi explained that the number of personnel consisted of 1,759 personnel from the Metro Jaya Police and 51 personnel from the police ranks.

Furthermore, thousands of personnel were deployed at a number of security points that had been mapped with a focus on the Monas area, HI roundabout, and the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor.

"The performance of personnel is divided into Sector A of Monas with 100 personnel, Sector B of Monas with 274 personnel, Sector C of HI roundabout with 533 personnel, and security of kamseltibcarlantas with 903 personnel," he said.

He also added that several points that were the focus of security included the Harmoni Traffic Light (TL), Veteran Street, the United States Embassy, Pospol Medan Merdeka Barat, the White Tent of Monas, HI Roundabout, Dukuh Atas, Kebon Sirih TL and Sarinah TL.

Polda Metro Jaya appealed to the public to celebrate the night of takbiran in an orderly, safe and respectful manner.

"The public is expected not to carry out processions that have the potential to disrupt public order, not light firecrackers, not carry out wild celebrations, and to comply with the instructions of officers in the field," said Budi.

He added that the security of the night of takbir was carried out with a preemptive, preventive and persuasive approach so that the public could carry out activities safely, comfortably, smoothly and still realize security, safety, order and traffic flow.
