PENAJAM PASER - The North Penajam Paser Police (Polres), East Kalimantan, anticipates traffic congestion during the implementation of the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Masehi Eid al-Fitr Prayer at the State Mosque of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

"The police are coordinating intensively with the IKN Authority so that the Id Prayer at the IKN State Mosque is safe and peaceful," said Head of the Traffic Unit (Kasat Lantas) of the North Penajam Paser Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police (AKP) Dedik Indria Prasetyo, when asked about traffic anticipation during Id Prayer at the IKN State Mosque in Sepaku, North Penajam Paser, Thursday.

The North Penajam Paser Police have alerted traffic officers on the main road to the IKN State Mosque, as well as the access road to the IKN toll road from Balikpapan and the Balang Island bridge.

"Security and traffic management aspects have been prepared thoroughly," he explained, mapping the vulnerable points of vehicle density and preparing a traffic engineering scheme to facilitate the implementation of Eid al-Fitr prayers at the IKN State Mosque.

The IKN State Mosque was built on a land with an area of 32,125 square meters, a building area of 61,596 square meters and can accommodate more than 60,000 people starting from the beginning of Ramadan or the fasting month of 2026.

It is estimated that many residents of North Penajam Paser Regency and surrounding areas, he said, will carry out the Eid al-Fitr prayer at the IKN State Mosque.

"So we are preparing security and traffic engineering to provide security and convenience for people who want to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers at the IKN State Mosque," said Dedik Indria Prasetyo.
