JAKARTA - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) conveyed the latest developments related to national energy resilience and sovereignty, which is one of the five main pillars of national strength in President Prabowo Subianto's vision, in a press conference themed Update PHTC, Infrastructure Readiness, and Food Price Stability Ahead of Nyepi and Idulfitri 2026, at the Bina Graha Building, Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

The Presidential Chief of Staff, Muhammad Qodari, explained the significant achievements of the Fast Best Results Program (PHTC) in the energy sector which focuses on expanding Solar Power Plants (PLTS), New Electricity Installation Assistance (BPBL), and ensuring energy readiness ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026.

"Energy resilience is the main foundation of national independence. Through expanding access and transitioning to green energy, the government is committed to creating a community that is free from darkness and ensuring that energy justice is felt evenly even to the corners of the village," explained Qodari.

Qodari explained that the government continues to accelerate the development of PLTS with a large plan to reach a capacity of 100 Gigawatt (GW). The utilization of PLTS currently has reached 1.49 GW based on the performance achievement of 2025. "The positive impact of this energy transition is felt by the community in remote areas through the PLTS Off-Grid Isolated program (Village Electricity Program)," said Qodari.

As a real example, as many as 500 households on Sakala Island and 400 households on Karamian Island, Sumenep Regency, have now been supplied with electricity from a PLTS with a total capacity of 275 kWp. Previously, people in the two villages only relied on diesel-powered power plants with limited lighting time and were vulnerable to fuel supply disruptions. Now, residents can enjoy a sustainable energy source, unlimited from sunlight, and much more cost-effective.

Qodari revealed that as a form of affirmative government, the New Electricity Installation Assistance Program (BPBL) continues to record success that exceeds the target. As of March 11, 2026, electricity installations have been installed in 220,857 households, or 102.72% of the target. This comprehensive assistance includes the installation of 3 lights, 1 outlet, installation certificate, 900 VA power connection, to an initial electricity token worth Rp. 100,000.

The presence of legal and safe electricity has a massive social and economic impact. Electricity not only meets the basic lighting needs, but also encourages the economic activities of residents, supports the learning process of children at night, and significantly improves the quality of life of the poor.

"Nationally, the BPBL Program also strengthens energy resilience through expanding access to electricity for people who have not been served," explained Qodari.

To ensure public comfort during the 2026 Lebaran holiday, the National ESDM Sector Post has been on full alert from March 12 to 31, 2026. The national electricity system is ensured to be safe with an estimated peak load of 47,198 Megawatts and the power supply capacity reaching 51,608 Megawatts, providing a very adequate power reserve of around 9.3%.

In addition, in response to the rapidly increasing trend of electric vehicles, PT PLN has prepared 1,681 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in 994 locations along the homecoming route. This number has increased 1.7 times compared to Lebaran 2025, complete with Fast and Ultra Fast Charging facilities to secure the journey of around 23,147 electric cars for travelers with minimal queues. The distribution of fuel and LPG is also guaranteed to run smoothly by activating 125 Fuel Terminals, 7,885 SPBU, and LPG bases that operate 24 hours.

"Through the presentation of the achievements and readiness of this energy infrastructure, the public is expected to obtain clear information so that they can spend the Eid al-Fitr holiday with their beloved family in a calm, safe, and enjoyable way," concluded Qodari.

Also present at the press conference were Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works Wida Nurfaida, Secretary General of the National Food Agency, Sarwo Edhy, President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk Rivan Achmad Purwantono, and Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) Astra Infra Billy Perkasa Kadar.
