KAI Jakarta: There are still 53 thousand train seats with a 30 percent discount

JAKARTA - PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta said that there are currently around 53 thousand seats for long-distance trains (KA) with a 30 percent discount on fares.

"Especially for the Jakarta Daop 1 area, there are 329 thousand seats with discounted fares, and currently there are about 53 thousand seats that can be used by the public," said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo in Jakarta, Wednesday.

The 30 percent discount tariff program is valid for commercial economy class trains in the period 14-29 March 2026.

"KAI invites the public to immediately take advantage of the availability of tickets that are still available, including discount programs, and plan the trip well for mutual convenience," said Franoto.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta provides a total capacity of 1,083,623 seats for long-distance trains during the 2026 Eid Transportation period. Of this amount, 743,786 tickets have been sold, with an average occupancy rate of 69 percent.

In the period from March 11-20, 2026 or the pre-Lebaran period, as many as 477,013 train tickets have been sold. On certain dates, the average remaining seats is less than 500 seats.

"For departures after Lebaran, namely from March 23 to April 1, 2026, seat availability is still quite a lot, reaching more than 316 thousand seats," said Franoto.

He added that during the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta operated 68 regular long-distance train trips per day, 12 additional trains from Gambir Station, seven additional trains from Pasar Senen Station, and four free Motor Train trips.

A number of trains that are passengers' favorites from Gambir Station, including Pandalungan, Argo Semeru, Gunungjati, Cakrabuana, Pangandaran, and Batavia.

Meanwhile, from Pasar Senen Station, the trains that are much sought after, namely Bengawan, Airlangga, Serayu, Kertajaya, Jayakarta, and Progo.
