JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Collaborative Movement Berdaya affirms its commitment to supporting efforts to alleviate extreme poverty through synergy between the Zakat Forum, the National Zakat Agency, philanthropic institutions, and the government.
The commitment was conveyed in an activity held at the Jakarta International Velodrome on Thursday, March 12, 2026, which was attended by various stakeholders from government elements, zakat institutions, and national figures.
Chairman of the Zakat Forum, Wildhan Dewayana, said Indonesia Berdaya is a collaboration platform that brings together various parties to jointly face the problem of extreme poverty that cannot be solved alone.
According to him, the potential of national zakat is estimated at Rp. 327 trillion, but the realization of its collection is only around Rp. 44 trillion or around 13 percent. This condition shows a great opportunity to be optimized through collaboration between zakat institutions, philanthropy, and the government.
"Indonesia Berdaya is a common space that brings together the strength of the government, zakat institutions, and philanthropy to work together to overcome poverty," said Wildhan.
He added, through various programs, Indonesia Berdaya has distributed assistance worth Rp. 437 billion which reached 117 extreme poverty pockets with around 3 million beneficiaries from the poor and poor groups.
As part of the implementation of the movement, various social programs are carried out in a number of priority areas. One of them is through the Warm Passage activity which is part of the Indonesia Berdaya program series in expanding the distribution of assistance to the poor.
The program was carried out simultaneously in eight provinces with the highest poverty rate, namely East Java, West Java, Central Java, North Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, Lampung, and Banten. The assistance also reached disaster-affected areas in the Sumatra region, including Aceh and West Sumatra.
On the same occasion, the elected Chairman of the National Zakat Agency, Sodik Mudjahid, emphasized that in the teachings of Islam, efforts to alleviate poverty are the responsibility of the community.
According to him, collaboration between zakat institutions and the government is the key to ensuring that zakat management can have a wider impact on society.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly, Rusdi Kirana, said that Indonesia as a multi-ethnic country has great strength in the value of tolerance and togetherness.
He assessed that the spirit of mutual respect was an important foundation in strengthening social cooperation to overcome various national problems, including poverty.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Social Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar, emphasized the importance of strengthening data-based synergy and collaboration so that poverty alleviation programs can be more targeted.
"Ramadan is a moment of blessing to strengthen synergy. We must ensure that zakat, infak, and alms programs do not stop in Ramadan alone, but continue to encourage people to rise, be independent, and empowered," he said.
Through the Indonesia Berdaya movement, collaboration between FOZ, BAZNAS, philanthropic institutions, and the government is expected to continue so that it can expand the reach of benefits and accelerate the realization of a more empowered and prosperous Indonesian society.
