Prabowo admits Danantara's performance has increased, but asks for no false reports

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto admitted that he was satisfied with the initial achievements of Danantara, but at the same time gave a stern warning to the leaders of SOEs and the management of the institution: never present false reports.

The warning was conveyed by Prabowo in a thanksgiving for the one-year anniversary of Danantara, Wednesday, March 11. In front of the Danantara and BUMN leadership, he emphasized that he no longer wanted to receive reports that were manipulated or compiled only to please superiors.

"I ask you not to play with me anymore. Don't make false reports, reports that are only pleasing so that you can be fooled," said Prabowo.

According to Prabowo, the warning is important to be conveyed openly because Danantara holds a great responsibility in managing state wealth. He emphasized that Danantara is not a small institution, but a platform that consolidates the nation's strategic assets.

"Danantara is the power of the Indonesian archipelago. Daya means strength or energy, anagata is the future. So this institution must maintain and manage the strength of our nation for the future," he said.

Despite being tough on governance, Prabowo admitted that he was quite happy with the initial report he received. He said that the return on assets in 2025 increased by more than 300 percent compared to previous years.

For Prabowo, the increase signaled that the consolidation of asset management through Danantara was beginning to show results. He assessed that the step of uniting various state-owned companies under one control was the right decision.

Prabowo also touched on the complexity of state-owned enterprise management, which has been spread across many entities. He admitted that he only knew that the number of companies related to state-owned enterprises could reach more than a thousand entities.

"There is no management lesson anywhere in the world that says one management can manage a thousand entities at once," he said.

Therefore, he emphasized that consolidation through Danantara was directed to make state-owned enterprise management more focused, efficient, and accountable.
