JAKARTA - The plan to build the Sunda Civilization Park has begun to receive attention from the Ministry of Culture. Minister of Culture Fadli Zon received the management of the Ngamumule Sunda Civilization Foundation at the Ministry of Culture Office, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 11. What is discussed is not only the plan for a cultural park, but also opportunities for cooperation to keep the Sunda heritage from being pushed further.

Chairman of the Ngamumule Peradaban Sunda Foundation, Lucky R. Sumanang, said the park was prepared as a cultural space that unites elements of education and the environment. Hopefully, people will not only see Sunda culture as a relic of the past, but as a value that remains alive and can be inherited.

"We want to build a civilization park that not only presents cultural elements, but also education and the environment, so that the values of sustainability can continue to be known and passed on to future generations," said Lucky.

In addition, the foundation also prepares a short-term agenda in the form of an international batik sketch painting exhibition involving artists from various countries. Meanwhile, for the park, the location prepared is in the Tamansari area, Bogor, although the concept of land development and management is still being perfected.

The foundation's founder, Kusnin Asa, explained that the park was designed as an education, conservation, and community empowerment center. The concept presents a miniature of the Sunda countryside, typical landscapes such as mountains, forests, rice fields, and waterfalls, as well as spaces that showcase the history of Sunda from Tarumanegara, Galuh, to Pakuan Pajajaran.

Not only that, the area is also prepared to become a training room and an economic driver for residents through the production and marketing of local cultural products.

Responding to the exposure, Fadli Zon emphasized that the preservation of culture cannot be carried out by one party alone. According to him, cooperation between the government, community, and society is an important condition for regional culture to be maintained.

"Cultural preservation cannot be done alone, but requires collaboration between the government, the cultural community, and the community. The Sunda civilization is an important part of Indonesia's cultural wealth," said Fadli.

Director General of Cultural and Traditional Protection, Restu Gunawan, added that the government basically supports community initiatives. He said that revitalization in West Java has also been running, including in the Cianten Inscription area, the Batutulis Inscription, as well as the revitalization plan for the Pajajaran Museum.
