Switzerland Says US-Israeli Attack on Iran Violates International Law

JAKARTA - Swiss Defense Minister (Menhan) Martin Pfister stated that the US-Israeli attack on Iran violated international law.

According to the SonntagsZeitung newspaper as reported by Anadolu on Sunday, March 8, Pfister confirmed this after the US-Israel attacked many civilian infrastructure to Iran's oil refinery.

"America and Israel have attacked Iran from the air. By doing so, they, like Iran, have violated international law," said Pfister.

He also encouraged parties that cause the regional situation and conditions in the East to calm down to immediately stop violence and protect civilians.

Pfister also warned that Europe could be dragged into this US-Israeli vs Iran conflict, not only through conventional military involvement but also through asymmetric warfare such as terrorist attacks.

"There is a risk of terrorist attacks in Switzerland. In addition, war can trigger a wave of refugees that will also reach us," claimed Pfister.

Although he does not believe Switzerland is directly threatened by Iran's long-range missiles, Pfister said the possibility of additional damage cannot be ruled out.

"Right now we have nothing to protect ourselves from long-range attacks," he said.
