JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump demanded Iran "surrender unconditionally" as the US-Israeli attacks on Iran continued, triggering a constant response from Tehran.

"There will be no deal with Iran, unless (Iran) surrenders unconditionally! After that, and after the election of a new great and acceptable leader, we and our great and brave allies will work tirelessly to save Iran from the abyss of destruction," Trump said through his TruthSocial social media account, Friday, March 6, reported by ANTARA from Anadolu.

Trumppun said he would ensure that Iran's economy would be bigger, better, and stronger than before.

"Iran will also have a very bright future," he said.

Tensions in the Gulf region have been escalating since the US and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran on Saturday (28/2) which resulted in more than 1,000 people being killed, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, 150 school students, and senior military officials.

Iran then launched a series of retaliatory attacks against US military bases, diplomatic facilities, and military personnel in the region and a number of cities in Israel. The intensity of the attacks continues to increase.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Thursday (5/3), said Iranian authorities had miscalculated if Washington could not keep up with the pace of their military operations.

"Iran hopes we don't last, but that would be a big miscalculation for the IRGC in Iran," Hegseth said, referring to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

He added that the US has no shortage of determination, stressing that the US's offensive and defensive weapons stockpiles are still very sufficient to continue the attack until the US achieves its war goals.
