DENPASAR - The Bali Regional Police revealed the results of DNA tests on human body parts found on Ketewel Beach, Gianyar Regency, identical to Ukrainian WNA Ihor Komarav (28) who was allegedly a kidnapping victim.
Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Ariasandy, said it could be confirmed that the DNA sample of the body parts found at Ketewel Beach, with blood stains at several crime scenes, to the DNA of the victim's mother, 99.99 percent identical after undergoing a series of testing processes.
Starting from the autopsy at the Prof. Ngoerah Denpasar Hospital and DNA tests conducted in Bali, as well as by the Forensic Laboratory of the National Police Headquarters, since February 26, 2026, until the results were received on March 5, 2026.
"The comparison of the results of the DNA profile can be concluded that the maternal allele from the DNA profile of the victim's mother is compatible with the material allele from the blood profile on the black Avanza car, the blood car at Villa Summer in Tabanan, and the results of the DNA profile on the six bone samples that we have examined based on the calculation of the probability of the DNA profile's maternity index are 99.99 percent," said Ariasandy, Friday, March 6.
In detail, the body parts used for the sample consist of six pieces, namely the molar tooth bone, collarbone, thigh bone piece, tibia, toe bone, and heel bone piece.
The DNA found in those parts was successfully analyzed and identified as coming from a young male individual (XY Chromosome) with the same blood profile found in the black Avanza car and the blood profile at the villa in Pangkung Village, Tabanan, so, it was concluded that he was Ihor Komarav.
So, in addition to having appointed one foreign suspect with the initials CH, the police are also continuing to hunt down six DPO kidnappings and suspected perpetrators of mutilation. They are RM, BK, AS, VN, SM, and DH.
"We are chasing six people who have been designated as suspects. We have issued DPO and Red Notice. We are still coordinating with Immigration, Divhubinter, then Interpol to pursue the whereabouts of the perpetrators who we suspect have gone abroad. All of them are foreigners with passport ownership of more than two," said the former Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police.
His party also investigated whether there was any connection between the suspect or this case with foreign mafias.
Previously, Ihor Komarav was reported missing on Sunday (15/2) while with his colleagues practicing riding a motorcycle in the Jimbaran hill area, South Kuta District, Badung Regency.
Initially, the victim was in the backmost position and was being carried by his partner, suddenly attacked by an unknown person. Ihor's partner managed to escape and informed the group in front of the victim that he had been kidnapped.
The report was then made to the South Kuta Police. Not long after, a live broadcast video appeared showing the victim in a villa and asking for ransom.
The Bali Police Joint Team then conducted an investigation, processed the crime scene (TKP) and traced CCTV footage at a number of points.
Based on the analysis of investigators, one unit of Toyota Avanza car and two motorcycles were identified that were allegedly used in the action. The car was known to have been rented by a foreign national with the initials CH at the behest of another party for Rp6 million.
GPS tracking of the vehicle led to a villa in the Tabanan area.
At the location, the police found blood stains which were then secured for forensic examination. Similar traces were also found inside the Avanza car used by the suspects.
"The results of the temporary identification show that the blood in the villa and in the vehicle is identical," said Ariasandy.
Investigators suspect that the villa was the location where the victim recorded the live broadcast video that had circulated, in which Ihor asked for ransom money from his family.
The police also secured CH. Then from the development made, there were six other foreigners involved in the kidnapping, namely RM, BK, AS, VN, SM, and DH. They have been included in the wanted list (DPO) and a red notice has been submitted to Interpol.
