JAKARTA - Russia and Ukraine resumed prisoner exchanges with the mediation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday, bringing the total number of soldiers exchanged through the UAE humanitarian operation to 5,355.

"The United Arab Emirates has announced the success of mediation efforts carried out jointly with the United States between Russia and Ukraine, which resulted in the release of 400 prisoners - 200 from each side - bringing the total number of prisoners exchanged through the UAE mediation efforts to 5,355," the statement said, reported TASS (6/3).

The ministry noted that this latest exchange was the 19th round of mediation efforts by Abu Dhabi since the beginning of the crisis.
