JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has again held a free homecoming program for residents who want to return to the Thousand Islands during the 2026 Lebaran holiday. This program uses sea transport with departure from the Muara Angke Port.
Based on information from the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service (Dishub) Instagram account, free homecoming registration will be opened starting Monday, March 9, 2026.
"Free travel by sea for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government 2026. Registration starts on March 9, 2026," wrote the DKI Dishub statement, quoted Thursday, March 5.
The registration process is carried out online through Google Form. The registration link will be shared through the official social media of DKI Jakarta's Dishub.
"XCalon travelers can register themselves and their families through a Google Form that will be opened on March 9-12," said Dishub.
This program provides destinations to 10 islands in the Thousand Islands area. The destination islands include Untung Jawa Island, Pramuka Island, Panggang Island, Lancang Island, Sebira Island, Pari Island, Kelapa Island, Payung Island, Harapan Island, and Tidung Island.
DKI's Dishub also reminded that this free homecoming service only serves departures from Jakarta to the Thousand Islands.
"Free Sea Transportation for tourists only serves departures from Muara Angke Port, not serving the return flow from the Thousand Islands," wrote Dishub.
After the registration closes on Thursday, March 12, 2026, participants are required to undergo a verification process which will take place on March 12-15, 2026.
"Participants are required to confirm via WA when the verification message comes in," he continued.
The departure of free homecoming participants is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2026, to their respective destination islands in the Thousand Islands region.
