Chairman of the Nusantara Volunteer Front (BaraNusa) Adi Kurniawan reported the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police regarding the alleged practice of mark-up in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program in a number of regions.
Adi said the report was submitted because of the alleged inflation of raw material prices which was suspected to have an impact on the many cases of poisoning experienced by children in the implementation of the program.
"We report the Head of the National Nutrition Agency Dadan Hindayana regarding the alleged mark-up in a number of areas which caused many children to be poisoned," Adi told reporters at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
According to him, so far the BGN has often mentioned that the operational responsibility of the program is at the level of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) or the head of the kitchen. However, Adi assessed that the party who should be responsible for the implementation of the program is the head of the institution.
"According to us, the one who should be responsible is indeed the Head of BGN, because he is the one who heads the implementation of this program," he said.
Adi also assessed that President Prabowo Subianto also had a moral responsibility, considering the MBG program was an idea carried out in his government.
"When this program is implemented, many children are poisoned and there is a suspicion of massive corruption, then Prabowo and the head of BGN must be held accountable," he said.
In his report, Adi admitted that he had submitted a number of supporting documents to investigators. The documents include media reports and data related to the number of children suspected of poisoning and alleged mark-up of raw materials.
"We have a number of evidence, supporting documents such as news and data about the number of children who are poisoned and the alleged occurrence of mark-up," he explained.
He said that the data submitted was mostly collected from media reports. According to him, the prevalence of such reports should be enough for law enforcement officials to conduct an investigation.
"I think the National Police should have investigated this case without the need for public complaints," he said.
Adi added that the report had been received by the police. However, he was still asked to complete a number of files before the report was officially registered.
"Alhamdulillah accepted, only tomorrow I was asked to return to complete some files. So the police report number (LP) has not come out," he concluded.
