Senator Dayat El Emphasizes Commitment to Clean Drugs in South Kalimantan

JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the South Kalimantan District, Muhammad Hidayattollah, who is familiarly called Dayat El, carried out an aspiration absorption activity at the South Kalimantan Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Office.

During the meeting, one of the emerging strategic issues was the existence of the BNN Provincial Office of South Kalimantan, which is currently still in Banjarmasin.

According to Muhammad Hidayattollah, with the establishment of Banjarbaru as the capital city of South Kalimantan Province, it is necessary for the provincial-level vertical agency offices, including the BNN, to adjust their presence.

"This is part of the aspiration to absorb. In terms of governance, ideally the BNN Provincial Office is already in Banjarbaru as the provincial capital. This is important for the effectiveness of coordination and the symbol of the seriousness of government arrangements," said Dayat El.

As a representation of the Regional/People's Representative who always speaks out, Muhammad Hidayattollah emphasized that all aspirations conveyed will be fought for at the central level through the Committee 1 of the DPD RI, in accordance with the scope and areas of responsibility carried out.

Apart from the institutional issue, Dayat El also highlighted the importance of strengthening the drug danger campaign in the digital era. He encouraged the BNN of South Kalimantan Province to be more active in utilizing social media to voice education and prevention.

"Now is the era of Gen Z. Social media must be frequently updated with educational content about the dangers of drugs. Don't lose the narrative with negative content. We must enter the digital space of young people," he said.

As a figure of Competent Young People, Muhammad Hidayattollah also joined forces with young people from the representatives of Gekrafs Banjarmasin and Nanang Galuh Kota Banjarmasin to participate in providing young people's perspectives in drug prevention efforts.

According to Dayat El, cross-sector collaboration, between state institutions, creative communities, and youth ambassadors, is the key to building a joint movement against drugs in South Kalimantan.

"We want this movement not to be just a formality, but to be a collective movement. The government, community, and young people must stand in the same line," concluded Muhammad Hidayattollah, Member of the DPD RI from the Kalsel District and member of Committee 1 of the DPD RI.

This activity confirms Dayat El's commitment as a Regional/People's Representative who always speaks up to continue to be present to absorb aspirations, fight for them at the national level, and ensure that Banua's young generation is protected from the threat of drugs.
