Police Reveal the Chronology of the HRV Fire on the Jagorawi Toll Road

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Law Enforcement of the Sub Directorate of Escort and Patrol of the Jagorawi Highway, the Central Police, revealed the chronology of the car that caught fire on the Jagorawi Toll Road on Tuesday morning.

"The incident occurred on Tuesday at around 03.45 WIB, precisely at KM 11.700A," said Head of the Jagorawi Toll PJR, Korlantas Polri, Kompol Akhmad Jajuli, in his statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.

He explained that there were two vehicles involved in the incident, namely the head truck (head) vehicle with the police number B 9718 TEH driven by the driver with the initials A (41) with the Honda HRV with the police number B 1271 HFU driven by the driver with the initials FN (37).

"Both vehicles were traveling from Jakarta to Bogor, the truck was running on lane 2, then the HRV car was running on lane 2 to precede from the left," said Akhmad.

When leading, the driver of the HRV car was surprised because there was another truck, then returned to lane 2 and hit the left rear of the truck head and turned around and then caught fire.

"The final position of the truck head on the shoulder facing south, while the final position of the normal HRV car in lane 1 facing north is oblique left," said Akhmad.

He mentioned the cause of the accident, namely the lack of anticipation to maintain a safe distance.

He also ensured that the members of the Jagorawi Toll PJR had inspected the crime scene (TKP).

"We have secured the crime scene, and also listed the identity of the driver, for the victim to be nil," said Akhmad.

Previously, a video was circulated which was uploaded by the social media Instagram through the @kabarcibubur24jam account, which showed a vehicle on fire.

"The car was on fire on the Jagorawi Toll Road from Jakarta to Bogor (near the Munjul bridge)," the account wrote.
