Pramono Targets Posyandu to Press Stunting and TB, Asking for More Concrete Field Work

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung targets an acceleration in reducing stunting and tuberculosis (TB) rates through strengthening the role of integrated service posts (posyandu).

This was emphasized when appointing the Head of the Provincial and City/District Posyandu Steering Team and confirming the DKI Jakarta Provincial Posyandu Steering Team for the 2025-2030 term.

Pramono said the inauguration was not just a ceremonial, but part of a strategic step to strengthen basic services, especially health, which was the priority of his government.

"Posyandu has a very noble task. We want Posyandu to play an active role in handling stunting, TB, and other health issues. We have to work together between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and Posyandu," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, March 3.

According to him, the responsibility carried by the Posyandu manager is a great trust that must be carried out with full commitment. He associates the role of Posyandu with the development focus emphasized during his nearly one year of leadership with DKI Deputy Governor Rano Karno.

"Together with the members who were inaugurated today, this trust is also a trust that hopefully can be carried out as well as possible. During my almost one year of leadership and Bang Doel, we prioritize the development of basic things, especially education, health, and social," he said.

Pramono mentioned six areas of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) which are the authority of the local government, ranging from education, health, public works, public housing, social, to public safety and order and community protection.

Of these areas, education and health are said to be the main concerns. A number of programs such as the Smart Jakarta Card (KJP), the Superior Jakarta Student Card (KJMU), to the bleaching of diplomas will continue. In the health sector, he highlighted the strengthening of services including the White Army.

"KJP, KJMU, the bleaching of diplomas, to the strengthening of health services such as the White Army, we will continue and improve. For TB, I hope that next year Jakarta's ranking will be much better. Likewise with stunting, there must be concrete field work and Posyandu must be actively involved in it," he said.

He emphasized that the target for improving TB and stunting was not enough with the policy on paper, but it needed supervision and direct intervention at the community level.

"All residents of Jakarta must receive healthy and quality services. That is the main basis for how we build Jakarta in the future," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Posyandu TP, Hani Pramono, stated that Posyandu plays an important role in the public health service system, especially for pregnant women, infants, and toddlers.

According to him, Posyandu in the future will not only be a place for routine services, but also a center for educating healthy families and monitoring child development in urban areas.

"In the future, Posyandu will not only exist as a place of service, but also as a center for learning healthy families, a center for monitoring child growth and development, and a center for urban communities' healthy living movement," he explained.
