JAKARTA - The Islamic Dakwah Development Center (PPDI) of PT IPC Terminal Peti Kemas (IPC TPK) officially distributes employee zakat through the Independent Zakat, Charity and Charity Institution (LAZISKU). This step was taken to ensure that zakat is managed by an authorized official institution.
The handover of zakat was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Director of Finance, HR, and Risk Management of IPC TPK, Yanuar Eviyanto, with the Executive Director of LAZISKU, As'ad Nugroho, on Monday (2/2) at the Pelindo Tower Building, North Jakarta.
This distribution is part of the social dakwah responsibility of the PPDI IPC TPK to ensure that zakat funds are distributed in a trustworthy, professional, and targeted manner.
"We hope that this cooperation can strengthen synergy in empowering the community and provide wider benefits for the needy," said Yanuar Eviyanto.
The Head of the PPDI IPC TPK, Agus Fazri, added that this collaboration was a first step that would continue. "This is not the last, but the first and God willing it will continue," he said.
In addition to the distribution of funds, the PPDI IPC TPK also encourages LAZISKU to collaborate in building zakat literacy for members, ranging from routine studies to training amils for PPDI managers.
Executive Director of LAZISKU, As'ad Nugroho, welcomed the trust. He emphasized that zakat would be managed with the principles of transparency, accountability, and responsibility in accordance with the provisions of the asnaf. "This is a trust that must be distributed according to the asnaf of zakat. Insyaallah we will distribute it immediately in this Ramadan," concluded As'ad.
He hopes that this assistance can ease the burden of the community around the operational environment of PT IPC TPK.
