The Serang Apparatus for Hiding KKB Aibon Kogoya in Nabire, Secured 561 Ammunition

JAKARTA - The TNI-Polri joint apparatus secured 561 rounds of ammunition and a number of other evidence during the action against the hiding place of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Aibon Kogoya in Nabire Regency, Central Papua.

Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation Law Enforcement Task Force (Satgas Gakkum ODC) Kombes Pol IGG Era Adhinata said on Sunday, March 1 at 09.30 WIT, the police carried out law enforcement efforts against the KKB Aibo Kogoya who had attacked the PT Kristalin security post in Nabire.

He said the hiding place of the KKB members was in the Nabarua forest area, Kali Haparan Village, Nabire District, Nabire Regency.

"When this joint team approached the location, there was a shootout. The KKB members then fled and left the camp," he said in Nabire, Monday, quoted by Antara.

From the location, he said, the joint police found a number of evidence, including 561 rounds of ammunition, cash amounting to Rp79,700,000, and 12 mobile phones.

In addition, officers also found two mobile phones belonging to the victim of the attack at the PT Kristalin post, which had previously been reported to have been seized by the group. Another mobile phone is suspected to belong to the group's leader.

According to him, all the evidence has been secured for further investigation.

Based on field monitoring on Sunday, March 1, the TNI apparatus also deployed military helicopters in the operation to support mobility and security of the area during the law enforcement process.

"Operations will continue to be carried out to maintain security stability and protect the community from acts of armed violence in the Nabire region," he said.
