JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump on Sunday warned Iranian security forces to surrender or be killed, after the US military said it had destroyed the headquarters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

"Once again I urge (IRGC), the Iranian military and police to put down their weapons and accept full immunity or face certain death. It will be a certain death. It will not be pleasant," President Trump said in a video address, launching Al Arabiya (2/3).

Furthermore, President Trump said that combat operations in Iran continue and will continue until all Washington's goals are achieved.

President Trump also confirmed three members of the US military had been killed and said there would likely be more casualties, vowing to avenge the deaths of Americans.

"The combat operation continues today with full force, and will continue until all our goals are achieved. We have a very strong goal," he said.

In addition, President Trump also urged the Iranian people to rise up to overthrow their government, a day after a joint US-Israeli attack killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

"I call on all Iranian patriots who yearn for freedom to take advantage of this moment, to be brave, decisive, heroic, and reclaim your country. America is with you," he said.

Earlier, the Republican president said on Sunday he was envisaging a four-week military operation against Iran.

"It's always a four-week process. We estimate it will take about four weeks," he told the British newspaper Daily Mail.

"No matter how strong the country is, this is a big country, it will take four weeks - or less," said President Trump.
