Israeli Attack on Iranian Girls' School Kills 148 People

JAKARTA - The Minab Regional Prosecutor in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan on Sunday revealed that the number of deaths due to the barbaric attacks by the United States and Israel on the Minab girls' elementary school had risen to 148 people and 95 others were injured, mostly students.

Taheri, the prosecutor of Minab region, condemned the barbaric crimes committed by the Americans and the Zionist regime of Israel against the Shajare Tayyebe Elementary School.

"Yesterday morning, following a criminal attack by the Americans and the criminal Zionist regime, a primary school was targeted, and we immediately arrived at the scene," he said, quoted by Tasnim (1/3).

As proof of the brutality of the Israeli regime, the attack took the lives of many innocent people.

"So far, in this brutal attack, 148 people have been killed and more than 95 people have been injured, most of them students, and among the victims there are also education staff and parents of students," Taheri explained, noting: "Immediately, a medical forensic team was deployed, and the work of identifying the bodies of the victims is underway."

Public prosecutor Minab emphasized that all parties, including hospitals, were on alert.

Previously, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi attacked the school which killed innocent students.

"The building that was destroyed was a primary school for girls in southern Iran. The school was bombed in broad daylight, when it was full of young students," he wrote on the X social media platform on Saturday night.

"Dozens of innocent children have been killed in this place alone," he said.

Foreign Minister Araqchi stressed that this crime will not be left unpunished.

As previously reported, Israel and the United States launched an attack on the capital Tehran and a number of cities in Iran on Saturday.

Quoted from ABC, the United States dubbed the operation "Operation Epic Fury" while Israel called it "Operation Roaring Lion."

The attack was retaliated by Iran launching an attack on Israeli territory and a number of US military installations in the Middle East.
