BANDUNG - The West Java Provincial Government (PemprovJabar) guarantees that all provincial roads are in a stable condition and are free of holes to ensure the smooth and safe flow of homecoming and return during the 2026 Eid period.

Head of the West Java Regional Road and Spatial Planning Agency (DBMPR) Agung Wahyudi stated that currently the percentage of provincial roads with stable conditions has reached 91.68 percent or along 2,362.183 kilometers.

"The road that is being repaired is being repaired. We guarantee that there will be no more potholes during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming," said Agung as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 27.

In addition to pursuing the target of being hole-free, the West Java Provincial Government pays special attention to technical risks on the homecoming route by activating 19 Disaster Relief Unit (DRU) points.

This unit serves as the front line to anticipate sudden damage and natural disasters on crowded roads.

Agung explained that the operation of the DRU would be directly escorted by the Bima Sakti Rapid Response Unit (URC) Team.

This team is validated to move quickly to handle road damage in urban areas, accident-prone points, to locations that the community reports urgently.

"The team is equipped with various equipment, namely 20 mini excavators, 56 dump trucks, 6 bailey bridges, 40 pick-ups, 6 wheel loaders, and 81 compactors," he said.

The 19 heavy equipment points are strategically spread which includes Bogor, Bekasi, Cianjur, Sukabumi, Purwakarta, Subang, Garut, Bandung, Indramayu, Cirebon, Majalengka, Kuningan, to Tasikmalaya.

Not only about road infrastructure, the aspect of pilgrim service is also strengthened with the provision of 60 Lebaran 2026 Pick-up Posts which are spread across six Regional Technical Implementation Units (UPTD).

These posts are designed as a one-stop service for people who travel long distances.

In addition to providing resting places, drinking water, and toilets, officers at the post will provide crucial information about alternative routes, disaster-prone points, and current congestion mapping.

"With this preparation, disaster disruptions during the homecoming trip can be minimized," said Agung.
