TANJUNG SELOR - North Kalimantan Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) Irjen Djati Wiyoto Abadhy became the first participant in the urine test examination held by the Professional and Security Division (Bidpropam) of the North Kalimantan Police at the Rupatama Bhara Daksa building.

The urine test was followed by the Head of the Main Office (PJU) and all officers of the Kaltara Police without exception. This examination is part of internal supervision and prevention of drug abuse in the police environment.

Irjen Djati emphasized that this urine test was a reinforcement of discipline and integrity of the members of the National Police and the commitment of officers as leaders to be able to set an example for members and ensure that there are no violations that harm the institution.

"The leadership must be a role model for members. There must be no violations, and if found, they will be dealt with firmly according to the rules," said Inspector General Djati.

He explained that this examination was a follow-up to the results of internal analysis and evaluation of the National Police as well as the implementation of the President's instructions regarding drug eradication, especially through supervision from within the institution.

"Bidpropam Polda Kaltara has conducted a thorough examination of all officers and ensured that the leadership ranks are free from drug abuse while maintaining the professionalism of members," he said.

The Regional Police Chief added that through this examination, the Kaltara Regional Police wanted to emphasize that the war against drugs was not only carried out through law enforcement to the public, but also started from internal improvement of institutions.

"Periodic urine tests for personnel, especially the leadership element, are expected to be able to maintain the professionalism of members and strengthen public confidence in the National Police as a law enforcement institution," he said.
