JAKARTA - The West Bandung Regency Government (Pemkab) in West Java, held a mass funeral for 10 bodies of victims of the Pasirlangu landslide, Cisarua District, which has not found a match with the identity of the reporter.

The West Bandung Regional Secretary Ade Zakir explained that the ten bodies that have not been fully identified were buried with the marking of the post-mortem examination number.

"All the bodies have been taken DNA samples (Deoxyribonucleic Acid), but so far none have been matched. Mass burials are carried out with post-mortem number markings," he said in West Bandung, Friday, quoted by Antara.

He explained that the mass funeral activities were carried out to honor the victims and arrange the location affected by the landslide.

He also added that the postmortem marking was carried out to facilitate the identification process in the future if there is a match between the data and the reporting party.

"If there is a report or a match is found between the data and relatives, then just come to the number of the marker," he explained.

He also said that the 10 bodies were handed over to the Sartika Asih Hospital together with the Deputy Regent of KBB and were immediately buried after Friday prayers.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Biddokes Police Sub-Directorate of the West Java Police, AKBP Ani Rasiani, added that some of the victims came from one core family, so that DNA matching took longer.

"The difficulty is actually because the deceased is in a core family, namely father, mother, and child. Therefore, there is a second stage to match with cousins or distant relatives, so it can't be immediate," he said.

He also said that although the number of body bags was 12, the number of individuals was still 10 because there were two bags containing one individual.
