Tax Office Driver Commits Suicide because He Lost Playing Online Gambling Slots

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kelapa Gading Police conducted an investigation into the cause of the death of a man from Kuningan, West Java, in the bathroom of his boarding house.

From the results of the examination of a number of witnesses, the police managed to uncover the motive for the death of the tax office driver.

"The victim committed suicide because he ran out of money to play (gambling) slots. The victim owed a lot of loans that he didn't pay," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Kelapa Gading Police, AKP Kiki Tanlim when confirmed, Thursday, February 26, 2026.

This fact is the basis for the victim's alleged suicide. The victim chose a shortcut by committing suicide in the bathroom where he was indecost.

"The cause is due to economic factors, the victim is in debt," he said.

Previously reported, a man with the initials MAP (29) from Kalimanggis, Kuningan, West Java, was found brutally dead in the bathroom of a rented house on the 3rd floor, Jalan Puskesmas, RT 06/06, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Thursday, February 26, 2026.

According to information collected by VOI, the victim lived with his wife, initials DJ (29), for 1 month in the plot boarding house.

"From the victim's wife's statement, the victim had talked about economic complaints and debt problems," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Kelapa Gading Police, AKP Kiki Tanlim when confirmed.

In addition, the victim's wife also said that her husband worked as a driver at the tax office.

"According to his wife, the victim did not have any complaints of illness. The victim has been sent to RSCM for a Visum Et Revertum," he said.
