BANDUNG - The Chief of Staff of the Army (KSAD) General Maruli Simanjuntak emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of soldiers and avoiding violations that are considered to drain the energy of the TNI Army institution. The affirmation was delivered during the inauguration of Merdeka Park at Makodam III/Siliwangi, Jalan Aceh No. 69, Bandung City, Tuesday, February 24.

According to the KSAD, integrity and professionalism are the main foundations in maintaining public confidence in the TNI AD. He assessed that every form of violation not only harms individuals, but also has a direct impact on the performance and focus of the organization.

"Don't give room for violations. Things like that only drain the energy of institutions and divert our attention from the main task of maintaining sovereignty and serving the people," said General Maruli, quoted by the Head of the TNI, Wednesday, February 25.

Accompanied by the Commander of the III/Siliwangi Military Region, Major General TNI Kosasih, the Chief of Staff of the Army delivered that the inauguration of Merdeka Park was a momentum to strengthen the values of togetherness and discipline. The park is expected to become a morale-building space that supports the formation of an integral soldier character.

The KSAD directive was followed by 14,200 Kodam III/Siliwangi personnel. A total of 1,100 soldiers and civil servants were present in person, while the other 13,100 participated in the activity online from 54 unit units.

On that occasion, the KSAD appreciated the performance of Kodam III/Siliwangi which was considered to contribute to maintaining the level of public confidence in the TNI AD, which in recent years has consistently been above 90 percent. However, he emphasized that this achievement must be maintained through discipline, compliance with rules, and commitment to avoid violations.

"Public trust is expensive. Maintaining it is much more important than just chasing image. The key is integrity and professionalism in every task," he said.

General Maruli also emphasized the importance of continuous training, both in terms of physical, mental, and soldiers' welfare. According to him, a strong organization is an organization whose members focus on working, solid, and are not burdened by problems due to internal violations.

"If soldiers are disciplined, have integrity, and remind each other, the energy of the Indonesian Army will be fully channeled for the main tasks and dedication to the nation and state," said the KSAD.
