MAKASSAR - The Makassar Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi), has listed 545 residents who have been displaced in six evacuation locations when floods occur due to extreme weather in the last few days leading up to Lebaran 2026.

Head of the Makassar BPBD, Fadli Tahar, said his party had helped evacuate residents who were flooded to the evacuation point that had been prepared.

"The number of residents who were displaced due to disasters in several areas of Makassar City was 545 people and it was spread over six points," said Fadli, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 25.

Fadli Tahar said that there are currently six evacuation points spread across Manggala and Biringkanaya Districts.

The total number of displaced residents was recorded as 169 heads of households (KK) with a total number of 545 people.

He detailed that in Manggala District, the refugees were in two locations, namely at the Jabal Nur Mosque in Manggala Village, which housed 12 households or 36 people and the Yuda Alfatih Mosque, which was also in Manggala Village, accommodating 7 households with a total of 27 people.

"In Biringkanaya District, there are four evacuation points. The Lailatul Qadar Mosque BTP Block AF in Katimbang Village is the location with the largest number of evacuees, namely 67 KK or 232 people," he continued.

In addition, refugees also occupy the Paccerakkang Elementary School in Katimbang Village with 24 KK or 86 people. In other locations, the Nurul Ikhlas Mosque in Katimbang Village accommodates 40 KK or 133 people. Meanwhile, the Al Ramun Mosque in Paccerakkang Village accommodates 9 KK or 31 people.

Fadli Tahar said his party continued to monitor and record data periodically at all evacuation points.

"We have coordinated with relevant agencies to ensure that the basic needs of refugees, ranging from logistics, health services, to the special needs of vulnerable groups, can be met well," he said.

Fadli said that efforts to handle and serve affected residents would continue to be maximized until the conditions were declared safe and the refugees could return to their respective homes.
