JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the DKI Provincial Government will revitalize the Anjungan Jakarta in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in order to welcome the 500th anniversary of Jakarta.
The revitalization of the Anjungan Jakarta at TMII is projected to strengthen the representation of Betawi history and culture. This step is also part of the preparations for the five-hundredth anniversary of Jakarta, which is planned to take place in 2027.
"In order to welcome the 500th anniversary of Jakarta, we agreed to revitalize the Anjungan Jakarta which is in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII)," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, February 24.
The cost prepared to revitalize the Anjungan Jakarta is IDR 25 billion. Pramono explained that the source of funding did not come from the regional income and expenditure budget (APBD), but from the KLB fund or building floor compensation.
Pramono added that next year the budget would be allocated again with a nominal amount that was more or less the same to continue the revitalization work.
"Next year, the allocation will be given approximately the same figure of Rp. 25 billion. All of it is funds from the KLB so that it does not use the APBD," said Pramono.
The DKI Jakarta Pavilion in the TMII area, East Jakarta is a pavilion that represents the identity and culture of Betawi as the face of the Capital City.
The main building of Anjungan Jakarta features the architecture of Betawi traditional houses, especially kebaya houses and stilt houses with barrel teeth ornaments. This Anjungan showcases the journey of Jakarta from the days of Sunda Kelapa, Batavia, to becoming a modern capital.
The DKI Jakarta Pavilion is not only a showcase, but also a stage for art performances. At certain times, cultural attractions such as Betawi mask dance, palang pintu, or traditional music performances are held.
