Focus on Improving Health, Iman Brotoseno Officially Resigns from the Position of TVRI Director

JAKARTA - The President Director of the Public Broadcasting Institution of the Republic of Indonesia Television (LPP TVRI), Iman Brotoseno, officially submitted his resignation from his position on Monday (23/2/2026). This surprising decision was delivered directly in a weekly meeting with the board of directors and heads of broadcasting stations throughout Indonesia.

This is an official statement from TVRI Central Jakarta which was received by VOI Monday, February 23 afternoon.

Health Reasons Are the Main Factor

In a meeting held in a hybrid manner at the LPP TVRI Operational Support Building (GPO), Jakarta, Iman emphasized that his decision was purely based on his personal health condition. He denied that there was a skewed issue or external pressure behind the resignation.

"I decided to resign so that I could focus on my health. There is no political pressure or threat of violence against me. I resigned purely for health reasons," said Iman Brotoseno.

Response of the LPP TVRI Supervisory Board

The Chairman of the LPP TVRI Supervisory Board (Dewas), Agus Sudibyo, who was also present at the meeting, gave high appreciation for Iman's dedication during his leadership of the television station that unites the nation.

Agus also appealed to all employees and station heads (Kepsta) throughout Indonesia to continue to maintain internal conductivity.

"Thank you Mr. Iman for all your contributions. To all TVRI employees, please remain calm, solid, and focus on your respective duties to carry out the functions of a public broadcasting institution," said Agus.

In accordance with the applicable regulations, Dewas LPP TVRI will immediately process this resignation based on:

PP No. 4/2024 (Amendment to PP No. 13 of 2005 concerning LPP TVRI). Dewas TVRI LPP Decision No. 1/2024 concerning the Work Procedure of the Supervisory Board and the Board of Directors.

The Supervisory Board has a maximum of 14 days from the date of receipt of the resignation letter to hold a plenary session to determine the final decision regarding the application.
