Casablanca JLNT Portal Destroyed by Motorists, Police Looking for Perpetrators

JAKARTA - The actions of a number of motorcyclists who allegedly damaged the portal on the Casablanca Non Toll Flyover (JLNT Casablanca) became the spotlight after the video circulated on social media (Instagram).

In the uploaded video, a group of motorcyclists can be seen crossing the JLNT at night. In fact, the lane is known to be closed to two-wheeled vehicles at night to prevent illegal racing and traffic accidents.

It is suspected that the road closure portal was forcibly opened by burning the portal's binding rope, so that motorcyclists could pass through the lane.

Director of Traffic of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Komarudin, said that his party was currently still conducting an in-depth investigation regarding the group of riders involved in the action.

"Currently we are investigating the group of riders," he said when contacted by the media, Monday, February 23, 2026.

He explained that the police also traced the identity of the vehicle used, including through tracking the Motor Vehicle Number Plate (TNKB) from the circulating video.

In addition, said Komarudin, his party has also coordinated with the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Metro Jaya Police to see the possibility of criminal elements in the case of vandalism of public facilities.

"We have coordinated with the Criminal Investigation Unit to see the criminal loophole," he concluded.

It is known that the JLNT Casablanca is indeed closed at night since March 2024 due to the prevalence of wild motor racing actions which often trigger traffic accidents on the route.
