Member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Indrajaya, responded to the government's move through the Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who officially added the 2026 Regional Transfer (TKD) budget by Rp. 10.56 trillion.
The additional budget was allocated to accelerate the recovery of disaster-affected areas in three provinces in Sumatra, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
Indrajaya assessed that the policy was a form of the central government's bias towards areas that were struggling to recover from the impact of natural disasters.
"We appreciate the addition of this TKD budget. The addition of Rp. 10.56 trillion is certainly very helpful for local governments in dealing with post-disaster impacts, ranging from infrastructure recovery, basic community services, to local economic recovery," said Indrajaya, Wednesday, February 18.
However, Indrajaya asked that the process of disbursing the TKD budget could be immediately completed. This is so that the local government can immediately utilize the budget for urgent needs in the field.
The addition of the 2026 TKD is also expected to be a strategic step for the government in accelerating the recovery of disaster-affected areas while strengthening the synergy between the central and regional governments in building regional resilience to future disasters.
"We hope that the disbursement of the TKD can be done as soon as possible. The region needs real support so that the rehabilitation and reconstruction process is not hampered administratively," he said.
According to Indrajaya, the acceleration of the distribution and accuracy of the use of the budget is the key to ensuring that the assistance is truly felt by the affected community. He emphasized that Commission II of the DPR RI will carry out its oversight functions optimally.
"Commission II will oversee the use of this TKD to ensure that it is targeted, transparent, and accountable. The large budget must really have a real impact on the people of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra," he concluded.
Previously, the Minister of Finance Purbaya explained that there were a total of 67 districts in three provinces that received additional funds. A total of 47 districts are directly affected by disasters, while the other 20 districts are not directly affected but have decreased TKD allocations.
