Minister of LH Emphasizes that North Jakarta Must Be a National Example of Waste Management

JAKARTA - North Jakarta was reminded again by the Minister of Environment (LH) Hanif Faisol Nurofiq to become a model for national waste management so that it requires the involvement of all parties, especially the community, to sort and process waste.

In a confirmed statement from Jakarta, Tuesday, the Minister of LH/Head of BPLH Hanif Faisol Nurofiq reminded the direction from President Prabowo Subianto to carry out korve or volunteer work activities, to clean the environment as part of the Indonesian Movement Safe, Healthy, Resik, Beautiful (ASRI).

"Today we continue to do korve, korve, and korve according to the instructions of the President, including in North Jakarta now," said Hanif, quoted from ANTARA.

"North Jakarta has more than 1,300 tons of garbage per day, so it needs to be a special attention for all of us, including for the community to manage garbage properly from the source," he added.

This was conveyed during a review of North Jakarta on Tuesday (17/2), where Minister Hanif made a working visit to the Waste Bank Unit of the Women's Federation on Jalan Marliana, as well as to TPS3R MOA in Penjagalan, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, to directly monitor community-based waste management.

Both locations are important examples in waste management that involve the community directly, from sorting to waste processing.

Minister Hanif also appreciated the existence of RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) in Rorotan, North Jakarta, as one of the solutions to accelerate waste management.

"Alhamdulillah, now North Jakarta has a RDF facility in Rorotan for a solution to accelerate waste handling. However, RDF today still gets corrections from the community

"So of course it needs to be the attention and support of all of us to make improvements in the future," said Minister Hanif.

The Mayor of North Jakarta, Hendra Hidayat, on the same occasion conveyed that the North Jakarta Administration City Government fully supports the movement and will carry out all orders conveyed by the President directly through the Minister of LH/Head of BPLH.

"We certainly also want to make North Jakarta a safe, healthy, clean, and beautiful city, in accordance with the Indonesian ASRI Movement. We are also grateful for the guidance and guidance of the Minister and his staff so far in creating a clean environment in North Jakarta City," he said.
