ABC News Friday, February 13, reported that the university said the shooting occurred at one of the dormitories in the Hugine Suites student housing complex in the Orangeburg area.
As a result of this shooting, university activities were suspended until Friday, February 13 until further notice.
South Carolina State University officials and authorities have not released any details about the suspect.
The university said the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating the shooting.
